When given the task to create a 30 second mock television spot for the American Red Cross, I decided to focus their blood drives and their constant need for donations. Wanting to keep it light, and since it was being created during the month of October, I decided to use “Dracula” to promote blood donations. Keeping this character in mind when writing the script, I focused on making sure it stayed lighthearted while still getting the importance of donating across to the audience. With my simple color palette I was able to make the piece Halloween themed without it going too overboard. I also created a geometric font that I used throughout to emphasize important words and to make the piece interesting and cohesive.
